Lost & Found Poetry: an all-levels writing workshop on gender and trauma

At Nous Tous Gallery, Chinatown LA

454b Jung Jing Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90012

7PM-9PM

In this workshop, we apply creative writing techniques to explore personal experiences with gender, sexuality, mental health, and violence. Using constrained writing and poetry exercises, we will learn how to embrace vulnerability as a source of strength and pain as fuel for inspiration. We will also address how creative expression can help us confront traumatic experiences and heal ourselves through rewriting personal narratives.

Participants will take home at least one completed piece of writing. Suitable for all ages and experience levels. Please be prepared to share stories (of your choosing) in an intimate group setting.

----- Hosted by Nasty Women Los Angeles
Nous Tous Gallery is pleased to announce "WE ARE NASTY WOMEN", a group exhibition that serves to demonstrate solidarity among artists who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of recent and ongoing threats to women’s and minorities' rights.

The exhibition features a diverse series of portraits of self-identifying Nasty Women Artists taken by Los Angeles based photographer Amanda Lopez. The exhibition will also be presenting a limited edition 2018 Calendar with our featured artists and their stories, to be sold at location, with all proceeds given to Planned Parenthood.
